DEATH COMES WHILE PATIENT THO'T BETTER
Mrs. Notz, Pioneer of County, Dies at the Age of 68
Mrs. Theresa Notz, a pioneer resident of Manitowoc county, passed away at the home of her son, Bartley Notz at the family home on Route 3 early this morning, death being due to dropsy. Bartley Notz, one of the sons who has been engaged logging in the north woods, was called home a week ago by the illness of his mother, but yesterday her condition had improved and he decided to return last evening. Shortly after midnight, Mrs. Notz became worse, death coming at 1:30.
Mrs. Notz was born in Chicago February 23, 1856, and came to Manitowoc county with her parents when she was a child of two. The family first settled in Two Creeks and then removed to Mishicot, where Mrs. Notz made her home until her marriage forty-five years ago, since that time living on the farm just south of the city.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8 o'clock from the St. Boniface church and burial will take place at Evergreen cemetery, the Rev. Kersten to officiate at the services.
Ten children, six sons, Bartley, Edward, John, William, Walter and Gustav, all of this city, and four daughters, Mrs. Henry Althien of Denmark, Mrs. Louis Wilsman, Neilsville; Mrs. Peter Wenner, Owen, and Mrs. Joseph Adelman of this city, together with two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Karo of this city, Mrs. Andrew Bishop of Two Rivers, and a brother, Herman Thoms of Mishicot, all survive.
