M. Helen Ryun, 97, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Broward Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Helen was born in Silvis, IL and had been a resident of Sebastian for 34 years coming from Coal Valley, IL.
Following World War II, Helen had volunteered at Iowa City VA Hospital helping the War veterans.
She had also worked as a dark room technician at Illini Hospital for 3 years in Silvis, IL. Helen had been a member of B# Square Dance Campers Club. She enjoyed traveling and RVing and was a collector of antique glass.
Helen was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are her three children; Sharon Williams of Margate, FL; Robert Laxy, of Moline, IL; Deborah Marshall, of Wilmington, MA; 9 grandchildren, 22 great –grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Eugene Ryun, her first husband Harold Laxy and her 3 brothers; Harry Evans, Jim Evans and Dick Evans.
A Visitation will be held 12 to 1 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2014 with a Service at 1pm at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
