Velma Odessa Sims, 87, of Galion, formerly of Wadsworth, died Friday, October 8, 2010 in Galion. Memorial services will be held at David & Maddi Sims residence on Saturday, October 16. Velma was born April 19, 1923 in Orgas, WV to Alva Clarence and Nora {Hancock} Atkins. She married Robert L. Sims who preceded her in death on October 20, 2000. Velma worked for a nursing home in Wadsworth for many years. She is survived by her children; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Velma was also preceded in death by her sons Bobby, C.W., and Mark, and her brother and sisters. -
