Walter Joseph (Joe) Booi, 92, went home to heaven on October 24, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Yakima surrounded by his family. He was born on June 3, 1922 in Yakima.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pat, brother Alfred and great grandson Jonathan Fasano. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jerry Ring of Seattle, daughters and sons-in-law, Joetta and Russell Smith, Marybelle and Jerry Weston of Columbia, South Carolina, Rose and Chuck Withrow and Judy and Mick Duncan of Yakima, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 12:00 pm at New Hope Chapel, 2007 Cornell Avenue, Yakima, and a luncheon will follow the service. Please dress casual as dad was a very casual person.

Family wishes to thank Sara, Kate and Jeannie of Memorial Hospice for the great care and support they gave our family in this most difficult time.

In lieu of flowers please make donation to Memorial Hospice or the Yakima Humane Shelter.

Private family interment will be at Garden of Fallen Heroes at West Hills Memorial Park.
