Alberta Marie Piano, 82, of Kahului, a seasonal pineapple cannery worker, died. She was born in Puunene, Maui.

She is survived by sons Andy and Richard; daughters Rose Running and Francine M. Cooke; brothers Sonny and Robert Rivera and Frank and Marcello Sanchez; sisters Patricia Miguel, Loretta Moniz and Marlene M. Ho; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Alberta Marie Piano, 82, of Kahului, passed away on November 23, 2014. She was born on September 26, 1932, at the Puunene Hospital.

Alberta — a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church — grew up in Waihee and attended Waihee Elementary and High School. She was a loving mother and worked seasonally in the pineapple cannery.

She is survived by her children, Andy (Melinda) Piano of Kihei, Rose (Ron) Running of Seattle, Richard (Valerie) Piano of Wailuku, and Francine Misty (Roy) Cooke of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Danny (Carrie) Dorazio, Marisa (Adam) Pierce, Chelsey Mariko Piano, and Krystle Cooke; great-grandson, Carson Makaio Pierce; and siblings, Sonny Rivera, Robert Rivera, Patricia Miguel, Frank (Shirley) Sanchez, Marcello Sanchez, Loretta Moniz, and Marlene Malina Ho.

She is predeceased by her husband, Forealan Piano, and her children Melvin and Danny Piano.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, December 5, at St. Theresa Church in Kihei; mass will begin at 11 a.m.; burial will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the Maui Veterans’ Cemetery in Makawao.
