Officer David M. Colegrove, DSN 2857, received his commission and was appointed to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department on March 07, 1988. Officer Colegrove attended the Saint Louis Police Academy for a two-week period to become familiar with the policies and procedures pertaining to the St. Louis Police Department. On March 21st, 1988, Officer Colegrove started his uniform assignment in the 5th District on Penrose Avenue. On May 26, 1989, Officer Colegrove tendered his resignation from the Saint Louis Police Department. Officer Colegrove served 1.22 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. It should be noted that prior to his appointment with the Saint Louis Police Department, Officer Colegrove had been with the St. Charles City Police Department.

Officer Colegrove then received a commission with the Chesterfield Police Department. While working with the Chesterfield Police Department, he continued his studies in college, obtaining his Master's Degree. This enabled him to start his career as a special agent with the USDA.

Officer Colegrove was a veteran of the Missouri Air National Guard, achieving the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He separated from the military on November 1, 1982.

Officer Colegrove, along with his brother Joseph, were 3rd generation police officers, following in the footsteps of their father and grandfather.

Colegrove, David Mark, 51, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Dear husband of Kimberly Colegrove (nee Fetti); devoted father of Christine, Mallory, Sandi, and Jana Colegrove; devoted stepfather of Madison, Jacob, and Grace Folsom; cherished son of Stephanie Rinaldi and Joseph Colegrove; devoted brother of Shawn Johnson, Julie Hundelt, and the late Joseph Hoffman; devoted uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many; and leaves behind his dedicated dog, Rosie.

David retired from a law enforcement career as a Special Agent with the USDA Inspector General Office.

Services: Memorial service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, since David was an avid fly fisherman, contributions may be made to Project Healing Waters.
