Martha E. Yancey was born December 2, 1921 in Chillicothe, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil and Ina (Moody) Stuart, and resided in the flint and Detroit area since 1928. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School “Class of 1940” and married Mr. Charles Yancey September 21, 1946 in Flint. Mrs Yancey was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Debra Yancey; 5 sons, Ronald (Lola) Watkins, Douglas (Bernadine), Stephen (Eva Spencer), Reginald (Ida), and Jeffery (Gwen) Yancey; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Wilma Rosemond, all of Flint,, Beverly (Robert) Lee, and Flora Hayes, both of Los Angles, CA; 3 aunts, Ruth Wright, Vivian Hill, and Bernadine Kingcade; uncle, Lyle Moody, all of Peoria, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Yancey was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Yancey (1993); and her parents.
