HOADLEY - Alberta Rose Hoadley, née Marquardt, aged 78, of West Bloomfield and formerly of Grand Rapids, passed into the arms of our Lord at 10:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 after a lengthy illness.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Hubert Hoadley; three children, Stephen Hoadley, Ann Zomberg (Joseph), and Mary Hoadley (Edward Riordan); four grandchildren, Alex Zomberg (Mandy), Mary Lynn Zomberg, John Riordan, and Andrew Riordan.
Alberta was a founding member of St. Jude Parish and active in a variety of parish duties across many years. In addition, she volunteered every Friday at Capitol Lunch throughout the 1970s. During the 1980s Alberta worked actively as a tax preparer for H&R Block. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and humility of spirit.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29 at the Arsulowicz Brothers East Mortuary, located at 937 Michigan Ave. NE, from 7 to 9 p.m. and preceded by a rosary at 6:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 30th at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen of Detroit ( www.cskdetroit.org).
