Edith Ackerman, age 93, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Tidelands Hospice House.
Mrs. Ackerman was born in Stokes, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Willie Wescoat Maxcey and Irene Breland.
She was a member of St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church, a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro, and a Charter member of Herbert Memorial Methodist in Georgetown. She was also a member of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alston Ackerman.
She was survived by a son Paul W. (Marie) Ackerman of Walterboro; a daughter Helen (Richard) Black of Pawleys Island; a granddaughter Stacey B. (Justin) Thompson of Pawleys Island; a great-granddaughter Ryleigh of Pawleys Island; three sisters, Lois Duckworth of Fredricksburg, VA, Sara Smith of Walterboro, SC, and Norma Connelly of Summerville, SC; a sister-in-law Margaret Maxcey of Walterboro, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2014, in St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island. Burial, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Lithchfield/Pawleys Chapel, followed in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
