Donald Edwin "Don" Gossett, 81 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, December 1st, 2014 at his residence.

Don was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 17th, 1933, son of the late John Bell and Priscilla Dye Gossett. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Don was a brick mason, employed by the Mills Construction Company.

Don was survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret West Gossett, whom he married in Byrdstown, Tennessee, on February 2nd, 1965; four children, David (and Debbie) Gossett of Bronston, Kentucky, Eddie (and Sharon) West of Somerset, Kentucky, Donna (and Mark) Davis of Ferguson, Kentucky, and Lucas Gossett of London, Kentucky; six grandchildren, David Anthony Gossett, Jessica Gossett Hale, Kimberly Rene Gossett, Courtney Kennedy, Jaci West, and Gabe Davis; eleven great-grandchildren, Denny King, Kory LaRusch, Kasey LaRusch, Cali Kennedy, Tucker Kennedy, Brayden Hale, Hunter Hale, Kelsie Gossett, Mariah Gossett, Emeline Gossett, and Gwendolyn Gossett; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, John Gossett, who departed this life on November 24th, 1959 and Priscilla Gossett, who departed this life on August 31st, 1975; five brothers, Kenneth Gossett, Marvin Gossett, Lonnie Gossett, Glen Gossett, and J.C. Gossett; and three sisters, Sylvia Clark, Goldie Weehunt, and Wilma Girdler.

Visitations were held on Thursday, December 4th, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 4th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Dawson officiating.

Interment followed in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky. Military Honors were conducted by the American Legion Post No#38 Honor Guard.
