Rueger, Lorna E.

Passed away Monday morning December 1, 2014 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper, Saginaw after a brief illness at the age of 78 years. Lorna was born June 11, 1936 in Monitor Twp., Bay County to the late Erwin W. and Augusta H. (Hecht) Behmlander and has resided in this area all of her life. Lorna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Amelith and the church’s Red Hat Society Scarlet Ladies and the Cross Country Clique Red Hat Society. On June 2, 1956 Lorna married George F. Rueger at Trinity Lutheran Church (Monitor), he survives her. Also surviving are two children; Timothy T. (Shelley) Rueger of Austin, TX, Kimberly (Brian) Boelter of Bay City, and a granddaughter; Amber. A brother; Maynard E. Behmlander of Freeland, and two sisters-in-law; Lorna Behmlander of Bay City and Beth (Bob) Keefer of Holland, MI also survives Lorna. A brother; Alvin Behmlander and a sister-in-law; Ruth Behmlander have predeceased Lorna.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 4, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church- Amelith, Bay City. Rev. Stephen P. Starke will officiate with burial to follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St., Freeland on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. John Lutheran Church to improve the Sound System, Valley Lutheran High School or the donor’s favorite charity.
