Ichabod Bartlett was born in New York on June 28, 1819. He married Lucinda in 1847 in Moriah, Essex Co, NY in 1847 and they had 2 sons. He was a farmer there. Lucinda died before 1854. Ichabod and his 2 sons James and Marcellus moved to LeClaire, Scott Co, IA where his brother Truman had a farm.

He met Mrs. Mary Ann (Frick) Stough whose spouse John Henry Stough had died 14 Dec 1852. He married her on April 7, 1855, and combined their families. There were 3 Stough sons and 2 daughters and 2 Bartlett sons. Ichabod and Mary Ann had a son, Philo, and a daughter, Jane,that increased their family to 7 males and 4 females living in LeClaire, Scott County, Iowa by 1860. During the next decades Ichabod worked as a farmer, a carpenter and a millwright. In 4/1861, Ichabod and his brother Truman took off for the Pike's Peak gold rush. Truman returned to LeClaire at the end of the summer of 1861 and moved Ichabod's family onto his farm in LeCalire, but Ichabod stayed an did not return to his family until Dec of 1862. Ichabod and his family lived in Port Byron, IL and multiple locations in Iowa before settling in Clinton Twsp, Sac Co, IA. By 1880, only Philo and Jane were living with them in Sac Co. This is where his wife Mary Ann died in 1892.
Ichabod continued living with his son Philo in Iowa until after 7/1900 went he moved to Pullman, WA where he died on 4/6/1909. His son Philo had his body brought back to Sac Co, Iowa where he was buried in the Odebolt Cemetery with his wife Mary Ann.
