Martha Frances Riggs, 93, of Centralia passed away the morning of Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the United Methodist Church in Hallsville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the church.

She was born Feb. 24, 1921, to Cicero and Willie Grady McKenzie in Boone County. Martha graduated Hallsville High school in 1939. On Dec. 12, 1940, she wed Russell L. Riggs. She worked for Boone County National Bank in Hallsville for 50 years. Martha was an active board member of the Hallsville Alumni Association and was the Treasurer of the Hallsville Historical Society for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. She truly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Martha Frances is survived by her daughters, Helen Brady of Hallsville, Phyllis Hise and husband David of Peralta, N.M., and Charlotte Milster and husband Johnny of Montgomery City; one sister, Dorothy McKenzie, of Columbia; grandchildren, Dena Fuentes and husband Leroy, Kena North and husband Tim, Erica Brumagin and husband Matt, and Laura Yelton and husband Mike; great-grandchildren, Sidnee and Sarah Brumagin, Blake, Kyle, Luke, and Chase Yelton, Addison and Ayden North.

Martha Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell on Oct. 12, 1992; siblings Margaret Elkin, Lois Jones, and William McKenzie; and son-in-law Harold “Shorty” Brady.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the Hallsville United Methodist Church or the Hallsville Historical Society, 10151 E Route OO, Hallsville, Mo., 65255.
