AITKEN Flora B Aitken, 92, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away after a brief struggle with cancer on August 20, 2014 at the Earl B Hadlow Center for Caring. She was born on January 21, 1922 in Newark, NJ to the late Bernard and Ethel Bartlett. Flora married the love of her life William Aitken on July 25, 1942 however in 2003, sadly he preceded her . Before retirement, she was a bus driver. Flora was very active in the social club at her retirement community in Port Charlotte before moving to Jacksonville in 2002 to be closer to her family. She loved roses, ceramics, travelling, shopping and meeting new people. She was also an Eastern Star. Flora leaves to cherish her memories her children, William H Aitken III and spouse Roz, Candie Haberman and spouse, Lenny, Renee Flora Aitken, Kim Parker and spouse, Ted, Penny Roper and spouse, Keith; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In lieu of Flowers donation can be sent to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road Jacksonville, FL 32257 in her honor. A celebration of Flora s life will be held at a later date.
