Mrs. Maria Girvan
Mrs. Maria Girvan, 85, died at Greely, Colo., April 18, 1947. She was born at Mildenall, Suffolk, England, on December 9, 1862, and came to Abilene with her parents in 1871. After her marriage to Charles Hugh Girvan, she moved to Denver in 1890 where she lived for six years. She moved to a farm three miles southeast of LaSalle, Colorado, where her husband died in 1910. Mrs. Girvan lived in LaSalle until she was injured in a fall in 1941. Since that time she lived with her daughters.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude E. Culler of Greenley, Colo., and Mrs. Mina Todd of LaSalle, Colo., and a son, Hugh C. Girvan, also of LaSalle. There are nine living grandchildren, one grandson. Daniel Hugh Girvan, a pilot in the Air Corps, was lost in the war. There are eight great grandchildren. Also, surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Chase of Abilene, Mrs. Emma Snook of Salem, Oregon, and Mrs. Mary Mourer of Eugene, Oregon.
