Annie C. Funk attended the State Normal School at West Chester, Pennsylvania. She went to India as a female Mennonite missionary. Miss Funk boarded the Titanic at Southampton in April, 1912. She celebrated her 38th birthday on the Titanic on April 12, 1912. After the sinking of the Titanic, her body was never identified. A memorial marker is located in Hereford Mennonite Church Cemetery near Bally, Pennsylvania. Parents (James Bechtel Funk and Susanna Clemmer Funk) added as per information from Lynne Ream. She was coming home on her first fur-
lough when death overtook her in the
wreck of the steamship Titanic off the
coast of Newfoundland.
Her life was one of service in the
spirit of the Master- not to be ministered
unto but to minister.
