Hugh "Rathbone" Jones, came to this country from Wales after getting into a fight with a man with last name Williams. It is said he bit the man's ear off after the man lied and told the stable owners where they worked that Hugh had been giving the horses sugar cubes and got him fired. His father's name was David Jones and mother was Mary Williams Jones. A dairyman and sold his milk around Lee's Summit Missouri around the turn of the century 1900. He did very well for himself. He married Jennie Marie Parry and had 4 children. It is said that he helped Todd George ( A prominent man in Lee's Summit Missouri ) get his start by lending him $1000. A lot of money back in those days.
