Funeral Services from the First Methodist Episcopal Church, Salem, Tuesday Afternoon, December 30, at 2 O'Clock, Rev. J.E. Shafer, Officiating.

Interment in East Lawn Cemetery.

Bio:
James Leonard Smith was born 5 Sep 1860 in Paris, Edgar, Illinois. He was the 2nd child and 1st son born to Nathan A. (1836-1868) and Martha K. (Griffin) Smith (1839-1890).
He had 3 siblings, Mary (1857-1858), Alice Sarah (1863-1945) and John Sherman (1866-1955).
On August 21 1881 he married Nancy Louisa Tate in Marion Co., Il. They had five children: Clara Maude (1882-1956), Roy Elmer (1884-1953), Asa Ross (1886-1979) Glen R. (1885-1889) and James Lee (1895-1939). All were born in Illinois.
James passed away on 28 December 1930 in Salem Illinois and was buried on 30 December 1930 in East Lawn Cemetery.
