Charles King Holliday was born at Meadville, Pa., Feb. 12, 1859; son of Cyrus Kurtz and Mary (Jones) Holliday.
He was educated at Washburn College, A.B. '82, Yale, B. L., '85 and Univ. of Kan. B. L., '95.
He married Jeannette Hamilton, Sacramento, Calif., Dec. 12, 1888; editor and proprietor Kansas Daily Democrat, 1886-1903; charge d'affaires of U.S. to Venezuela, 1888-90; World's Fair Commissioner, 1890-94; police commissioner, Topeka, 1895-96; pres. Excelsior Coke & Gas Co. since 1900; councilman, 2nd ward; v. pres. Taylor Grain Co.; pres. Commercial Club since Jan. 11, 1905; to Topeka, 1859. Office: 435 Kansas Ave.
