Esther M. Altman, 86, of Slatington died Wednesday in her home. She was the wife of Archie Altman. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this past March 30th. Born in Lincoln Ill., she was a daughter to the late Clarence and Ruby (Primn) Carlyle. She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School in Lincoln Ill. She was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star for 25 years where she was a worthy matron three times. She was also a member of Amarant. She is survived by a son; a daughter; a brother; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 daughters, Esther Folmer and Kathryn McDonald. Services: will be private. There are no calling hours. The KV Knopp funeral home Allentown is in charge of the arrangements.
