Oscar H. Paul Active in Masonic Bodies Many Years

Oscar H. Paul, prominent in local Masonic Orders, died on Saturday night at 11 at the family home, 109 North Franklin Street city, of complications after an illness.
Mr. Paul was born in Gotha Germany, and came to this country when a child. He settled in Wyoming Valley where he had resided his entire life. For many years he ran a barber business in this city and was the first president of Master Barbers' Association. He was active in that organization a long period. He was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church 42 years.
Mr. Paul was exceptionally active in Masonic organizations and held a number of high offices. His affiliations brought him in contact with a wide circle of the leading men of the community. He was regarded as one of the out-standing fraternal leaders in this section. At death he was Past Worshipful Master of Landmark Lodge 442, F. & A. M.; Past High Priest of Shekinah Royal Arch Chapter No. 182; Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Mt. Horeb Council 34; Past Eminent Commander of Dieu le Vieut Commandery 45. Knights Templer; member of Caldwell Consistory, 32nd Degree, Bloomsburg, Pa.; a life member of Irem Temple of this city, Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He also was a member of Wyoming Valley Male Chorus and of Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving are his widow, Theresa F. Paul, and two sons, Carl O. Paul of Buffalo, and Ralph F. Paul of this city. Seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held from the family residence, 109 North Franklin Street, Tuesday at 2. In the absence of Rev. Dr. George C. Westburg of Memorial Presbyterian Church, the services will be in charge of Rev. Dr. Leon K. Willman of First Methodist Episcopal Church of Wilkes-Barre, in connection with the Knights Templar of Dieu le Vieut Commandery. Interment will be in Hollenback Cemetery.
