Hermena Estella "Meme" (Adams) Posey, 95, of Reading, died on Friday, December 5, 2014 in Phoebe Berks Health Center, Wernersville.
She was the loving wife of the late Clarence W. Posey for 63 years. Born in Reading on May 14, 1919, Meme was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kirn) Adams.
She was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School.
Meme enjoyed her work in her beloved garden business that she founded with her husband, Posey's Acre. Her beautiful flowers brought joy to many people.
She cherished spending time with her family and doted on the many pets that she had over the years. Her family also remembers Meme for her wonderful home cooking that she enjoyed sharing with them.
Meme will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are four children, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Meme is predeceased by a granddaughter, Michelle A. Jennings (1989); a daughter-in-law, Mary E. (Grogg) Posey (1997) and all nine siblings. Meme was the last remaining child of John and Mary Adams.
A funeral service will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday from 11 to 12 p.m. Meme will be laid to rest next to her husband in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
