Hamilton Abert was a stockbroker in New York City and secretary in 1925 of Manhattan Rubber Mfg. Co. He married (1) in 1912, Helen Sousa (1887-1975), youngest daughter of John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) and Jane Van Middlesworth Bellis Sousa (1862-1944). Her father was the noted bandmaster and composer. Their children were Hamilton Sousa Abert (1919), and Jane Priscilla Abert (1926-) who married and had a child, Thomas. He married (2) in 1948, Katherine Schenk (1899-1989) who last lived in Hopewell Junction, N.Y.
