Along with her husband, Walter Bernard Durrett , "Bina" helped to organize the Chestnut Avenue Christian Church in Fort Worth. This chuch is now known as North Side Christian Church.

"Bina" was never really well. She suffered years of pain from undiagnosed gall stones.

Walter & "Bina" were the parents of six (6) children; however, only three (3) reached adulthood. Mother of Thomas Earnest Durrett and Mary Ivy Durrett Clegg and Henry Overton Durrett
