Grace M. Jirikowic, age 95, formerly of 2512 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died on Friday morning, Jan. 2, 2009, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.
She was born June 25, 1913, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gallagher) Brixius. On July 4, 1931, she married Louis J. Jirikowic in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death April 4, 1991. Grace was the craft instructor at the Manitowoc Book & Gift Shop for many years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Louis and Mary Jirikowic, Sheboygan; two daughters and a son-in-law: JoAnn Hannan, Miami, Florida, Janis & E. Forrest Clothier, Green Bay; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law: Donald and Ann Brixius, Brillion; and a sister: Virginia Rosinsky, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Jill, a brother: Kenneth; and two sisters: Janet and Adeline.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Daniel Schuster with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
A memorial fund has been established in Grace's name.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for the wonderful care given to Grace and her family. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
