Death of Rev. John B. Morrow
It is our painful duty to record the death of several citizens, which have taken place within the last few days. Rev. John B. Morrow died at his residence in Chilhowie township, Tuesday morning, the 16th inst. at one o'clock. Mr. Morrow had been in failing health for several years past, with dropsy, and his death was not unexpected. The deceased was seventy-two years of age, and removed from Tennessee to Missouri about forty years ago. He was one of the early settlers who expoused the cause of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and for many years preached its religious doctrines. Mr. M. devoted his whole life to the cause of Christianity, and was an honored and highly respected member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He had been a minister of the Gospel for over fifty years, and to him the Church found a valuable and energetic worker, as evidenced by the large membership fo that denomination. Mr. M. was the father of Mr. C. C. Morrow, and leaves many relations of that name in Johnson county, and with them we sympathize in the loss of a good man.
The funeral took place from the family residence, Wednesday morning, and the remains were followed to the last resting place by a large concourse of friends and relatives.
