George Masanori Hosaka of Reedley, CA, has passed away.

He was born San Diego, CA, to the late Sohichi and Misao Hosaka.

He was a graduate of San Diego High School.

During WWII, he and his siblings were interned at Poston, AZ, camp III, and then were moved to Crystal City, TX, in order to join their father.

After the war, the family relocated to Reedley, where he proudly farmed his entire life.

On May 1, 1954, he was united in marriage to Chiyo Mukai.

George was a member of the Reedley Buddhist Church, JACL, and Nisei's Farmer's League, and was active in the Boy Scouts of America as an assistant scout master.

But most of all, George was a farmer at heart. He took pride in the fruits and vegetables that he raised.

But George also raised laughter and the spirits of others. Yes, George was a farmer ... but also a good friend and father.

He was preceded in death by his wife Chiyo; and daughter Laura.

George is survived by son Kirk; son Dave; granddaughter Miya; son Todd; and daughter-in-law Layne.

Visitation will be held for relatives and friends at Lisle Funeral Home on Monday, April 17, 2006, from 10:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service for George Hosaka will be held at the Reedley Buddhist Church on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will immediately follow at the Reedley Cemetery.
