Son of Joseph B. Kellogg and Sarah Amanda Chase (1844-1877)

His death record says he was born in Hardwick, Massachusetts, but this is an error.

In 1870 he lived in Woodford, Vermont with his parents and 3 siblings. His father was a teamster.

He married Martha Lydia Morse (Stalbird)(Case), as her third husband, on 16 Feb 1895 in Agawam, Hampden, Massachusetts. Their marriage record calls him a farmer and her a seamstress. They had children:

. William Henry Kellogg, Jr. (1896 - 1968)
+ sp: Edith Belle Doucette
. Grace Sarah "Sadie" Kellogg (1898 - 1951)
+ sp: Alonzo Willard Hill (divorced)
+ sp: Marlie Carl Adshade (divorced)
+ sp: William A. Preston
. George Morgan Kellogg, Sr. (1900 - 1962)
+ sp: Ruth Matilda Murray
. Frank Joseph Kellogg (1902 - 1934)
+ sp: Marion Gladys Bragg
. Daughter Kellogg (1905 - 1905)

In 1900 he lived in Athol, Massachusetts with wife, their 3 children and his stepson Fred Stalbird (listed as Fred Kellogg). He worked in a "sash and blinds" factory. In 1910 he lived in Swanzey, New Hampshire with wife and 4 children. He worked in a box factory.

In 1920 he lived in Keene, New Hampshire with wife, son Frank and divorced daughter Grace. He worked as a fireman for the railroad. On both sides of his apartment home lived his stepson Fred H. Stalbird and family, and sons William and George and their families.

In 1930, widowed, he lived with his son Frank and wife in Hartford, Connecticut. He was called a millwright working with woodenware.

In 1948, suffering from heart failure, he was admitted to the Veterans' Hospital in White River Junction, Vermont where he died one day later at the age of 81.
