Fatal Accident

--On Tuesday afternoon, Sellick Whitney, captain of the canal boat Rotary, lying at the foot of James slip, met with a fatal accident, while endeavoring to lift a heavy piece of timber, which caused him to lose his balance, and he was precipitated to the deck of a sloop lying along side of his vessel.

Medical aid was procured, but the fall, having broken his skull and otherwise injured his head, he lingered until yesterday morning, when he expired.

The deceased was about 70 years old of age and a resident of Albany.
