OBITUARY: Herbert Vance, 79, a retired farmer of the Sandy Y Community in Taylor County, died at 5:42 p.m., Sept. 16, 1983 at the Taylor County Hospital. He was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. He united in marriage to Florence Lee March 15, 1928. Besides his wife, Florence Vance of Buffalo, Route 1, he is survived by three daughters and two sons: Carl Vance, Junior Vance, and Diana Creason, all of Buffalo, Lou Ella Junis of Lynn, Mass., and Peggy Potter of Sedelia, Mo.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Garlen Skaggs. Burial was in the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Claudie Brewer, Jack Lee, Bill Lee, James Lee, Robert Lee, and Thomas Clark
