Here resteth in assured hope to rise in Christ Sir Gyles Alynton of Horseheath, Kt. Accompanied with Lady Dorothy his wife, daughter of Thomas, Earl of Exeter, Baron Burghley, who having made him a joyful father of ten children, viz. Elizabeth, Thomas, Gyles, James, Dorothy, Susan, Anne, Katherine, William, and Mary, ended this transitory life the 10 of Nov. 1613, to whose dear memory her sorrowful husband, mindful of his own mortality, erected this monument.
