William (Will) Oliver Abercrombie was the son of Alexander C. Abercrombie, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth Clark. He was born in Kemper County, Mississippi 15 April 1866. His family moved to Cherokee County, Texas soon after. Later William would move back to Mississippi where he would reside until his death. On 27 December 1892 in Rankin County, Mississippi he married Octavia L. Queen Bounds, daughter of William Bounds and his wife, Eliza. William and Queen made their home in Pelahatchie, Rankin County, Mississippi where they owned a store. After his wife's death William erected his gravestone in 1946 some 12 years before his death. He died from stroke on 17 January 1958 in Meridian, Mississippi.

William's siblings were: Margaret Ann (Abercrombie) Carroll, Rev. Daniel A. Abercrombie and, A.Calvin Abercrombie, Esq.
