Marty was born the third of four sons to Clyde and Daisy Forinash in McFarland, KS. He moved to California in 1938 and joined the California Highway Patrol, Newhall Station, in 1942. (Badge #537) During WWII he served in the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate - First Class in the Pacific Theater. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the CHP and Newhall where he retired in 1971 having served all but 6 months in his beloved Santa Clarita Valley. After his CHP retirement he served as Head of Security for Marantz/Superscope before enjoying a long and satisfying career as a grandfather.

Marty was a longtime member of San Fernando Masonic Lodge 343, F&AM as well as several other Masonic organizations. Never one to be idle, he enjoyed a thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader and traveler. He particularly enjoyed a good story and was accomplished at telling and listening to them.

He was married to Ethel (Proctor) Forinash for 67 years, the father of Martin David (deceased) and Debra Louise (Robert) DiPrimio, and proud grandfather of Robert "Bobby" and Jeffrey Martin (Jacquelyn Fiss) DiPrimio.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, son-in-law, grandsons, cousin, Daryol (Rena) Forinash; nieces, Melissa Forinash, Carolyn (Jack) Gordon, Meredith (Henry) VonKohorn, and Sandy Forinash; as well as a large extended adoptive family. He is predeceased by his son, three brothers, a nephew and parents.
