Darrell Houston Peyton passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Covenant Health and Rehab Nursing Home. He was 87.

He was born in Vicksburg where he spent most of his life on September 8, 1927 to Henry H. Peyton and Anna Rea Cook Peyton. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force and a retired Oil Field Worker.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Jean Peyton and Marie Trahan Peyton and a daughter, Karen Diane Peyton.

He is survived by a daughter, Melinda Lamb of Vicksburg; a step-daughter, Cathy Marie Guidry of Morgan City, LA; three step-sons, Joe Trahan of Vicksburg, Garret Paul Trahan of Vicksburg, and Alex Trahan of Morgan City, LA; a brother, William A. “Al” Peyton of California; a sister, Mary Faye Esser of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Doyle Moulder officiating. The visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Trahan, Garret Trahan, Daniel Thompson, Chris Jones, Dale Jones, and George Price.
