He was a devoted husband, son, father, grandpa and friend to many.
He is preceded in death by Ruth Canales, his loving wife of 59 years; their son, Simon Richard Canales; and his parents, Jesus and Ramona Canalez.
He is survived by his children, Jesse, Richard, James, Allen, Linda, Michael, Patricia, Lupe and Ramona; 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, his brother Rudy; and sisters, Soccorro, Mary Hope, Sarah and Lupe.
Dad will forever be missed and remembered in our hearts. He gave us more than we could ever ask for. More than we could ever imagine. His name and character carry the strength of a lion.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Friday, April 21, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
