Ada was born in Zeeland, MI, to William and Agnes Meeuwsen. She grew up on a beautiful farm in Michigan and was the sixth of eight children.
In 1952, she moved to Fresno, CA, with her first husband, Wilko Traeger. There they raised their two children Lois and Bill, who will miss her dearly.
She was an Executive Secretary for the Employment Development Department with the State of California before retiring in 1984.
Ada married J.L. Morrison in 1975, and together they spent many happy years dancing and traveling with their friends.
She was "Honey" to her grandchildren and the name was a perfect fit because of her sweet nature and gentle soul. She had an inner strength that got her through times of hardship and was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by J.L Morrison, her devoted husband of 31 years; daughters, Lois Garney and her husband Fox, and Jacque Galgiani and her husband Bob; sons, Bill Traeger and his wife Dallas, Barry Morrison and his wife Elisa, and Chuck Morrison and his wife Betsy; five grandchildren, Gabriel and Arthur Garney, Willie and Austin Traeger, and Katie Morrison; sisters, Alma Zeil and Mag Kraii; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Chapel of the Light, 1620 W. Belmont on Friday, May 12, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.
The family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Nancy Hinds Hospice Foundation, 1616 W. Shaw, Fresno, CA 93711.
