She was born on July 28, 1920 in Clarendon, Texas to Isaac Newton Bowers and Anna Pearl Smith Bowers. She had been a waitress and worked for Panther Distribution in Fort Worth when IBM Machines first came out, and had been owner of several restaurants in the Valley. Ms. Alsup was a Methodist.
Survivors include daughters, Marsha A. Thames and husband, Gary of Breckenridge; Vicki Marie Fortunato of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida; sister, Annie McClung of Florida; two grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law; four great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Laura Haynes.
