~From Kansas City Times of Jan. 14, 1954 Forty Years ago column Mrs. Louisa Matilda Stayton, who drove an ox team to Lonejack a few hours after the battle there August 16, 1863, to get the body of her husband, James Helm, who was killed in action, died yesterday at her home east of Independence. Her second husband, Thomas Stayton, died several years ago. Sons are Gerry and William Helm, C. C. Stayton, E. M. Stayton, captain of company F third regiment M. N. G.
