Pearl and Lloyd were the parents of four children:
Rayburn Benton Acrea, Vera Odessa (Acrea) Foster, Dorothy May "Dottie" (Acrea) (Colston) Burkhart, and Ruth Jane "Ruthie" (Acrea) Burkhart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Acrea were held November 16, at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. W. P. Rowland officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Charles Butler.
Mrs. Acrea died on November 14 (1957) in Gainesville. She was born in Erath County, Texas on March 12, 1885 and was married to Lloyd Acrea at Stephenville, Texas in 1901. They were the parents of four children, three of whom survive. Mr. Acrea preceded her in death on February 2, 1919.
Mrs. Acrea moved with her family from Texas to Love County in 1912 and had lived here since that time. She was a member of the Shady Dale Baptist Church having joined that congregation in 1919.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Vera Foster, Mrs. Dottie Burkhart and Mrs. Ruth Burkhart of Marietta; four sisters, Mrs. Hugh Bowers of Brownwood, Texas, Mrs. Emma Jones of Ardmore, Mrs. Linnie Clark and Mrs. Agnes Tyler of Rising Star, Texas; three brothers, T. W. Weathers of Causey, NM, Coleman Weathers of Frederick and R. O. Weathers of Big Spring, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery with the Goodrich Funeral Home in charge of Arrangements.
