Geraldine Jackson, 91, was born on February 11, 1923 to William Emmett and Mattie Haynes Gordon in Knoxapater, MS, and passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in Shreveport, LA.
She was a former resident of Springhill and had made her home in Shreveport since 1992. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, had worked at International Paper Company CandD and was a former manager of CATO Clothing Store. She retired from the Council on Aging, was a former member of the Springhill Art League and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Springhill Chapter # 111.
She is survived by her daughter, Merlene Jackson of Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren, Deborah Porter and husband, Kenny; Sharon Crain and husband, Ronnie; a great-granddaughter, Renee Schaffner and sister, Kathleen Knight of Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arnold Jackson on March 15, 1978; her parents; a son, Billy Jackson; 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 2:00 pm in Bailey's Funeral Home Chapel in Springhill with Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery.
