Erica Jackson, 9 months of age, died of malnutrition Wednesday at her home. Her twin was also suffering from malnutrition and was hospitalized. Five other children ages 2 to 13 were taken into protective custody by the state Department of Human Services. Her mother, Deloistine Jackson, was charged with second degree murder for her death and aggravated abuse of her twin. Burial in New Park Cemetery.
Erica also leaves her father, Marc A. Wade; two sisters, Miss Libra Wade and Miss Jasmine Wade,her twin, and four brothers, Anthony Jackson, Everett Jenkins, Jhericho Wade and Marc Wade; her grandparents, Mrs. Mattie Powell and Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Wade, and her great-grandmothers, Mrs. Irma Taylor and Mrs. Rosa D. Burtis, all of Memphis.
