Ruby Lee “Simmons” Andrada, 81, of Spencer, OK, went home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2014. She was born on September 30, 1933, in Marlow, OK, to Jed and Leonia “Spears” Simmons. First and foremost, Ruby would want everyone to know she was a Christian; she prayed for the salvation of all she knew, but especially for her beloved family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Ruby was an avid Bible reader and stood fast in the word of God. She loved to sing and to attend family gatherings. Other activities for Ruby ceased while she was confined to her bed for the last eight years, but she was tenderly cared for at home by her daughters. Growing up, Ruby was the second child of eight children, as the oldest girl, she had a lot of responsibility. The family lived in the Marlow, Duncan and Chickasha areas. Ruby married Fidel Andrada on January 3, 1949 in Collingsworth, TX. Their first home together was in Duke, OK. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1950, then to Moore in 1961, and finally to Spencer in 1971 where they lived until their deaths. Ruby’s primary job outside the home was at Continental Plastic, where she worked for over twenty years, then at Honeywell Protection Services where she worked until her retirement. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Fidel; her parents Jed and Leonia “Spears” Simmons; brother’s, Ruffus Simmons and Herman Simmons and sisters, Mattie Smith and Bernice White. Ruby is survived by her daughters; Mary Smith of the home, and Barbara Bernard of Spencer; four grandchildren, Christie Vaut, Clint Vaut and wife Janis, Alison Nicole Meridith and husband Don and Matthew Bernard; seven great-grandchildren, Garon Vaut, Auston Hallonquist, Cody Meridith, Baylie Meridith, Clinton White, Sydnie Vaut, and Brent Vaut; three brothers and their wives, Mack and Louise Simmons, Charles and Dana Simmons, and Clifford and Sharon Simmons; and a host of other loving family and friends.
