Survived by his wife; two daughters and two sons; a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family; predeceased by two sisters, Ellen Phillips and Edna Nix; and three brothers, Olin, Roy and Larry Nix.
