Funeral services for Mrs. William Burkett, 87, a former Culbertson resident, were conducted here Tuesday afternoon in the Herrmann Chapel with Ronald Christensen of the Seventh-Day Adventist church officiating.

During the services, Mrs. Rex Grossert sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide With Me," with Mrs. Robert Bauer serving as organist. Pallbearers were Everett Rouch, Alex Myers, Gerald Myers, Wesley Ehlers, William Glantz, and Henry Yost. Burial was made in the Culbertson cemetery under the direction of the Herrmann Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Burkett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Yost, was born in Norka, Russia on May 21, 1877 and died at her home in Long Beach, California on April 1, 1965.

She moved from Russia to Culbertson with her parents at the age of 15. Mr. and Mrs. Burkett were married December 28, 1898. She lived with her husband in the Culbertson community until his death in September 1957 at which time she moved to Long Beach, California.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lee Roszell and Mrs. Willetta Sutton, both of Long Beach, California; and Mrs. Esther Schlak of Minot, North Dakota; two sons, Harry and Eldon Burkett of Long Beach, California; and one sister, Mrs. Lena Dodd of Sanford, Colorado.
