John and Nancy had two children: one girl and one boy. Nancy died somewhere between 1888 and 1891. John had remarried his second wife in 1891 after Nancy's death.
Nancy and John were buried at Paragon Cemetery, but flood waters within the county washed the graves away. It is said they eventually ended up in the Gulf of Mexico via creeks and other channels of water.
