Emma is the daughter of Richard Edwin and Anna Mary Scheckler Kirchner. Emma was one of six children
Emma married William Craven Golden on Feb 27, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois.

Emma lived with her husband in Chicago for many years, but after her operation for cancer in the 1930's, she stayed in her father's home in Kenosha, Wisconsin to convalesce and tried to bask in the sun in an upstairs bedroom, hoping that would help cure her.
