He resided in Mississippi County, Arkansas prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 30, 1942 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Driver and also as Single, without dependents.

William died in the "Line Of Duty" when his B-24 crashed during training in Tennessee during the war. They were flying out of Smyrna Army Air Force Base, Smyrna, Tennessee.

He is interred somewhere in Arkansas.
