He graduated from Crivitz High School.
He married the former Cheryl GlaweJune 1, 1985 in Crivitz.
After his education, he completed his lineman apprenticeship through the Missouri Valley Chapter and worked for M & J Electric and the city of Elkhorn for a period of time.
The couple resided in Boyd for nine years and moved to Medford in 1994.
For the past 21 years he was employed as a journeyman/lineman/troubleman for Xcel Energy where he was recently cited for 20 years of accident free service.
He was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years and spent time at his cabin in Athelstane. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers he was a past member of Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz.
Surviving are his wife Cheryl;
two sons: Joseph and Taylor Wieting, both at home;
four sisters: Beverly Shepro of West Bend, WI; Mrs. Don (Janet) Deschaine of Arlington, WA; Mrs. Dave (Sharon) Schwartz of Crivitz, WI; and Tina Howard of Middle Inlet, WI;
eight brothers: Darold (Susie) Wieting of Green Bay, WI; Alfred (Holly) Wieting of Mischicot, WI; James Wieting of Wausaukee, WI; Robert (Karen) Wieting of Mosinee, WI; Louis (Theresa) Wieting, jr., Gary (Carol) Wieting, Rick (Sue) Wieting and Kevin Wieting, all of Crivitz, WI.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Schue; a brother-in-law, Tim Howard; two nephews and his parents, Louis Wieting, Sr. and Agnes Wieting.
Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz on Thursday, May 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 19 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz. Rev. Mark Hannemann will officiate and burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Crivitz.
Pallbearers will be Dave Pepper, Tom Wojtkiewicz, Jim Przybylski,Matt and Dan Wieting, Brian and Todd Shepro.
