Leone M. Hughes, 98, of J.C. Proctor Endowment Home died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at her residence.
Born June 8, 1899, in Adams County, Wis., to Robert and Bertha Fehlhauer Chase, she married Raymond Hughes on March 23, 1963, in Peoria. He died April 21, 1971, in Peoria. Two sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.
She was a teacher in North Dakota, Eau Claire, Wis., Kenosha, Wis., and St. Charles, Mo. She also taught special education at Washington School and Trewyn Junior High School in Peoria, retiring in 1962.
Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
