Augustus "Gus" C. Amendola, a retired superintendent at Hyde Park Plumbing and Heating and a retired industrial arts teacher, died Thursday (June 6, 1996) in his Linwood Avenue home.
Amendola, 82, was born in Niagara Falls. He was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational School and had attended Bryant and Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo.
He held a master plumber's license in Niagara Falls for 36 years and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 129 for 62 years.
Amendola worked at Hyde Park Plumbing and Heating for 30 years and also taught at the former Trott Vocational School for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Dorothy Rader; a son, George; a daughter, Carol Cappy; a brother, George of Deltona, Fla; a sister, Florence Bonanni of Flint, Mich.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held today in Otto Redanz Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
